Dogs and Cats to U.K.
Regulations and documentation
Before sending your pet to the United Kingdom, there are several issues you need to look at prior to departure.
Trustforwarding recommends that you get a Pet Passport for your pet as this will cover all the demands from the British authorities.
Below you can find our guide to ensure that all requirements stipulated by the British authorities are met.
This is, of course, to ensure that your pet receives the best possible travel experience.
Demands
In the right hans side menu you can find the demand list from the British authorities regarding transportation of pets into the U.K. along with an explanatory text. The different steps must be completed in the below order and within a timeframe of no more than 6 months.
1. Microchip
2. Rabies vaccine
3. Blood sample
4. Treated for tapeworm & ticks – must be done 48-24 hrs. before departure
Documentation
You, as a shipper, are responsible for securing that the Pet Passport is correctly filled in. Feel free to contact us if you should have any questions.
A veterinarian MUST conduct ALL of the above steps.
The Pet Passport shall be faxed or e-mailed to your Trustforwarding office no later than 8 days prior to departure. The tapeworm & tick treatment will be checked on the departure day.
Quarantine
You are allowed to send your pet to the U.K. without doing all of the above, if you make reservations at a quarantine station in advance. The address of the quarantine station shall be given upon booking with Trustforwarding.
